Although this film was a box office smash, it has been subject to many irregularities including;
, The behaviour of certain characters - ie, Captain Smith, Bruce Ismay, William Murdoch and Charles Lightholler
, The prescence of Jack and Rose on the focsle 'Forecastle' deck. This was off limits to passengers. This deck is used by the deck hands for tying up the ship.
What do you make of it all? I loved the film though, largely due to the scale and grandeur.

At first I didn't want to go and see this movie. I thought there would be too many inacuracies with it, that it would just make me mad. But although there were a couple mistakes, I was very very impressed witht he reasearch that Mr. Cameron did, and I thought it was wonderful (I've seen it a million times, and own a few copies)...the attention to detail was incredible, especially even the little things like when Jack steals the coat and it shows the little boy spinning a top on the boat deck, that has to be one of my favourite pictures that I have in my books, because it was REAL. And for him to incorporate it into the movie I thought was wonderful (and only true Titanic buffs would have noticed that, but he knew that we are out there, and that we would appreciate that minor detail). I also thought the love story (hey, afterall I AM a girl) was very well done. Very touching, and easy to fall in love with the characters, and his choice of actors was really good aswell. They were all beleivable in their parts...

They were all beleivable in their parts... In regard to the James Cameron film, Titanic, I marveled at the awe inspiring images of historically accurate interior design. Viewers had a chance to see Titanic as she actually was, in all her splendor. For me, the movie had nothing to do with the fictional romance between Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater. As all of us know, that romance could have never occurred. If society felt it prudent to lock 3rd Class Passengers below deck with gated fastened shut with chains and padlocks, mingling with them in a ‘romantic sense’ was ludicrous. As stated by Furbaby, the image of the boy spinning the top was haunting. For Titanic enthusiasts, there were multitudes of similar images throughout the film. One thing I enjoyed was the depiction of the Chief Baker, Mr. Charles John Joughin, at the stern of the ship consuming alcohol and riding the stern into the sea. As all Titanic enthusiasts know, this was accurate. Mr. Joughin made it to collapsible boat B and subsequently was rescued by the Carpathia. So, for me, James Cameron did a wonderful job introducing a new generation to the Titanic. The kind of publicity generated by Mr. Cameron’s film will keep Titanic alive for generations to come.

Yes, he did do her justice I agree! Oh how it would have felt to have been able to go on that set! I would have loved the opportunity to go into her belly and marvel at the beauty of her reincarnation, even if only for a moment, and even though it wasn't really her!

I have had that thought since I first saw the film, oh for the opportunty to walk around a ship as beautiful as Titanic. It really would NOT seem like a film set.

I cant comment on this film as I havent seen it, so really I shouldn't be posting on this thread but I just wanna say that I would sit crying all the way through it. I'm very empathic and would spend the whole of the film thinking what must have been going through their minds....it fills me with dread

I love the soundtrack, I just find when I'm listening to it, I have to watch the movie...it just seems so sad listening to the music when you're not watching the movie along with it, I dunno, maybe kinda makes it feel a littel more real...I'm just weird though sometimes
