It is a shame more air was not fed into it, but I can understand the risk of damage. Very eerie nonetheless.

Remember it must of sounded better at one time. It probably had part of it eroded that makes the noise. Therefore the ghostly. Somewhat horrible ship whistle. However, for a 93 year old ship wreck it's incredible!

Too bad the whistles in the new movie did not have that authentic sound.
Even though the whistles were sounded after the movie, one would think they could have made computer models to try to predict the actual sound more accurately.
Maybe it was an expensive detail Cameron overlooked.
