These first pictures are from inside the plane from Sudbury to Toronto...you can still see some of the ice on the lakes!
The next few pictures is from inside the plane again, but this time from Denver to Tucson. The large mountains are the Rockies! Then of course you can see how it turns from mountains to desert and how much sand there really is!
Next is a few pictures from inside the Resort (Starr Pass Mariott Tucson)
Then next we have OUR room at the resort! It was so nice! The duvet and pillows were all down-filled and the balcony was just amazing!
And of course, can't forget the view from our balcony! They have a 27 hole golf course at this resort, and this was the view of part of it, right outside our bedroom door!
Ok, and we can't forget the resort itself! It was HUGE, so there are many pics taken from all different locations around the resort.
And these are more pics taken of the resort and the surrounding view...in the very far far distance, the mountain range you see is the Catalina Mountains.
And here are some more "mountain pictures" taken from the resort premises. The view all around the resort was cactus covered mountains...it was so beautiful as this is all you saw when you looked around you!
And of course, we can't forget the pool and the awesome view of the mountains from the pool aswell!
These next pics are of the Old Tucson Studios. It's the tour we went on. Over 300 films (westerns and others) were shot here. Most of John Wayne's films were done here, aswell as "The Three Amigos", "Little House on the Prairie", and also more recently the movie "Lost"...there are two movies currently being filmed there as we speak. I have the names of them and I'll let you know which ones they are when I dig my papers out...
The "Town"
Here is the "Saloon" which you would have seen in many many many movies!
And the "courthouse" which has been in many movies aswell:
I love these next two pictures of the horses and carriage I caught going by us while we were having lunch!
And of course, you can't forget the gallows! Here is one that they use as a prop in films...however it is actually functional and has the drop door under-foot and everything. Kinda creepy!
And an old train that they have used as a prop in films aswell:
And of course more "mountain" pictures...these are the Tucson mountains (same as around the Resort) but these were taken from the studio tour:
And last but not least, my friends the Cactus's...while they really fascinated me with their size and age (some are over 200 years old) near the end of the trip they kinda started to creep me out...after a while, they start to resemble people, with their arms and all, and you even start to feel like you're being watched...guess it was a good thing that I came home when I did! One of the pics I had Hugh stand in, just to show the size of them...but the one he is standing by isn't even nearly as big as some of them were!
Well that's it! Hope you enjoyed the photos! I'm so happy they all turned out so well. We are never ever going to forget this trip and we are going to have these amazing photos to help us remember for years and years to come! So happy to share them with you!
