This was the very first Titanic film I ever saw, they showed it to us in grade school and helped fuel the fire for me! It was so sad, I remember crying. Looking back and watching now, there are so many things that are not correct about it, fact are wrong etc...but they did such an amazing job for the times, with the information that they DID know at the time it was made. I still love it and can watch it over and over. In the end, all that really matters is the story of the people, and no matter what movies have been made or will be made, the story of the people never changes...very tragic.

This is a very good film, the special effects are bathtub like, but that does not really matter. The film is made in a very sensitive manner and still ranks as one of the best.

Also, for some reason, watching it in black and white makes it seem a litte more real than all the colours films and shows we have now. It really brings you back to that time!

I do agree with Mr. Daley on his comparison to the “bathtub like” special effects. Isn’t it amazing how far we’ve come since 1958? 1958 1997 A Night To Remember is truly a classic, one any enthusiast must have in their library! Best regards, X

Oh yeah! ANTR is my favourite, hands down! The black- and-white format gives it very much of a period feel and whilst some of the facts are wrong, they got an amazing amount of it right. Considering where film technology was in 1958, I think Bill McQuitty and the Rank Organisation did a bang-up job!

I waited for years to see ANTR. I could not find it on VHS or DVD, it was shown on tv and I missed it several times. I finally got to see it 2 years ago. Good film, better than I expected considering the limitations of filming technology of the time.

Sadly I haven't seen A Night to Remember. I wonder if I could get it from somewhere... we'll see.
