If they did want to do a full salvage of the rest of the ship, I mean the actual Titanic herself, for preservation and display only...would you support it? Even though that would mean she would have to be brought up in pieces?
I think I would, it would be our only chance as "common people" who love her so much to be able to see her, like most of us have dreamed. She would be saved from further deterioration and future Titanic lovers could enjoy her too...

I think as much as I disagree with this, I would still support it. This would give 'normal' people the chance to see such wonder.

Wow...what a question. Before answering the question with a definitive yes or no, I suppose a good follow up question would be, is it ethical? The ship, in her current state, is a grave for over 1,500 souls. Is it right to disturb a place in the cause of profit or selfishness? I guess the answer to that question would differ for each reader. Examining the situation in depth, look at the pair of shoes on the ocean floor. The pair of shoes I am speaking of was not dropped from the ship during her plunge into the deep; these shoes are a grave marker for a soul that landed there on the fateful night in 1912. Is it ethical to remove those shoes so that they may be examined by people for the sake of curiosity or fascination? I don’t believe they should. Is the Titanic any different? She is and will for as long as she remains standing a grave marker of over 1,500 souls that perished. One day she will return to the earth she was created from. Mother Nature is claiming a little of her each and every day. With all of the photographic evidence of her and internal videos of her is it necessary to bring her up in pieces just so people can walk around outside of her? Internally, she would never be the same. The woodwork, which is barely hanging on, would be permanently destroyed if someone attempted to move a piece of her. In regard to disassembling her in her current extremely fragile condition, an attempt to remove a piece of her to start dissecting her as if she was a puzzle would no doubt trigger a collapse; she would be forever lost as a heap of metal on the ocean floor. That would be the end of the Titanic as we’re fortunate enough to see today. Would it be worth the risk? In my opinion, no. The question is good; the answer is far too complicated. Ethically and realistically, she needs to remain where she is…untouched. She is a grave; one should not want to desecrate a grave. I am appalled by R.M.S. Titanic, Inc. They have removed more than they should have for the sake of monetary gain. It isn’t to preserve history; it is to make a profit. I visited the touring artifact show; they forbid you to take photographs. The reason they won’t allow it? They want to sell you a book for 40.00 that contains pictures of the artifacts. The same images you already own in your multitudes of Titanic books. You are not allowed to capture YOUR perspective for your photographic memories; they want your money instead. Personally, I think R.M.S. Titanic, Inc. should be ashamed of itself. Well, I have stated my opinion to this topic. Have a great day, stay safe! -- X

Well I think that the Titanic should be left where it is as a grave and monument for 1,500 people. If they were to raise it, where would they put it? It couldn't be a floating visitor attraction like the original Queen Mary is and we know everything about it's design unlike the Mary Rose at Plymouth. Lets face it there is no reason why it should be raised apart from commercial gain, if they want to show people what the Titanic looked like, they could build a replica, the plans will still be avaliable from somewhere. There is also the game "Titanic an adventure out of Time" that you can explore the ship in, but I don't think the ship would be raised.
