Well, there is a company claiming they are going to build a Titanic II at the moment and I have spoken to the head of the company but I have always said it is very unlikely that a Titanic II will be built but will they do it?
They would not be able to create an exact replica because of modern regulations and after 2012 ships will only be allowed to be built out of non flammable materials.

I would like to see it made, but I feel it would be impractical and expensive. It would be illegal to make an exact replica for actual passenger use. This is because it would not meet Board of Trade regulations. The design of Titanic is primitive compared to todays standards. It would need many more lifeboats, satellite navigation, etc.
It would be great as a visitor attraction though, there have been rumours of something similar being built for display in Liverpool, although they are probably unfounded.

The Titanic II is a little bit farfethched I guess. Really? No wood or anything like that on ships? Well there goes the age of beautiful ships... As far as Titanics' form of Beautiful.

"They would not be able to create an exact replica because of modern regulations and after 2012 ships will only be allowed to be built out of non flammable materials." Note, no wood allowed after 2012. It depends on how quickly they would commission a reproduction. I, for one, am against it. The Titanic should not be reproduced. The ship has a legacy, which would be tainted by modern man. Especially when one realizes that the ship could never be authentically reproduced, no one would carve all of the woodwork by hand; can anyone say plaster casts? Needless to say, I am not for a modern-day reproduction, I believe it wouldn't live up to the original. Actually...more than a belief, it couldn't live up to the original. What made the Titanic such a marvel could not be replicated by modern society, fiberglass, plastics and other items just cannot compete with the original iron and wood construction. There, I have stated my opinion on this subject. Everyone have a great week and stay safe! -- X
