most of the portholes will have been underwater at the start of the sinking. As they ventured deeper into the ocean, the water pressure would have been equal on both sides of the glass. This will have been the case for many iterior windows too, which are still intact.

Alot of dishes were in crates, and were submerged under water very slowly and just sunk intact in the crates, and after time, the wooden crates just disintegrated leaving some dishes intact. Don't get us wrong though, there was tons of breakage and many things ruined!

Lots of these chairs were thrown into the water as people were trying to use them as flotation aids.
