That staircase is the rear one, the other grand staircase at the forward end of the ship is much more elegant and exuisite. I will post a picture of it when I get a good one.

Just looking at the picture of the little boy spinning his top...I had spoken earlier about how James Cameron had used that in his film, and how much it impressed me. But what I never noticed before was that in the film, he had used that moment, at a time when Jack Dawson has "borrowed" the jacket to go and see Rose in first class, he took the jacket off the chair. I never noticed before that there actually WAS a jacket sitting on the chair while that little boy was spinning his top.
What an excellent job on Mr. Cameron's part!

It is so sad that the Titanic sank, the mighty ship reduced to nothingness.

If the Titanic had never sunk, there would not be millions of enthusiasts like us, besides, ,maritime laws and safety procedures changed afterwards so lives were saved in the long run.

Yeah I guess but if you went back to that April 14th what would you do?Wouldn't you try and save her?

I would try to save more people, not the ship. If it wasn't for her sinking we wouldnt be as interested in steamers like we are today. I mean it would be great to save her dont get me wrong.
