What do you think are the odds of another disaster like the Titanic happening today? With all the BIGGER and BETTER ships out there, that are aparently SAFER....do you think sometimes that we are becoming a little too "comfortable" with technology and getting ahead of ourselves and that it might cause a "slip up" somewhere and there might be another disaster? Or do you think we are very responsible and that could never happen again?

Or do you think we are very responsible and that could never happen again? I suppose you're referring to striking an iceberg and suffering a great loss of life. In that case, it is possible but unlikely. However, if you’re meaning any modern vessel sinking and suffering great loss of life, I believe it is very possible. This world has become too reliant on computers. As we’re all aware, computers suffer glitches. It doesn’t matter how high-tech this age has became, there is always a small percentage of risk involved in anything we do. In regard to a great loss of life, I doubt it. It would take something very sudden and catastrophic, like an explosion, to take as many lives as was lost on the Titanic. So, in my opinion, I would find it very unlikely. Most modern vessels are better built than the Titanic thanks to modern technology. And, as we all know, are outfitted with more life saving equipment. So, again, to answer your question, it is possible but very unlikely.
